Welcome to the Rotary Club of Saratoga of Rotary International.

I am proud and honored to be this year’s 2014-15 President.

The Rotary International  motto  is,  “Service Above Self” and we, a global network of volunteers,  focus on community and connections locally and internationally by sharing visions, exchanging ideas, connecting with others, joining leaders and taking action. We provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards, help build goodwill and peace in the world.

Paul Harris, the founder of Rotary International back in 1905 once said, “Whatever Rotary means to us, to the world it will be know by the results it achieves”. Internationally we have 1.2 million members, 34,000 clubs in over 200 countries.

Saratoga Rotary, chartered in December 1955, now has 131 culturally diversified members from Saratoga and Santa Clara County. Careers range from senior-high level executives, academicians, physicians, attorneys, sales professionals, mid-level managers, engineers to those who have retired. Members also serve on the city council, local school boards, city commissions and active in other community organizations.

The Avenues of Service activities that our club is actively involved in include: Community Service-(many local projects that give to those in need), International Service-(projects such as Rotaplast to perform plastic and dental surgery, clean water to improved sanitation to villages) Youth Service-(activities for youth and young adults through leadership development to participation in leadership conferences ) Vocational Service (network your vocation) and Club Service (hear wonderful weekly programs from outstanding speakers from around the valley).

Our number one fundraiser is the well known Saratoga Rotary Art Show, started 57 years ago. Today more than $2.2 million has been given to non-profits and charities through our grant process.

Fellowship is very important to our members so please come and attend one of our lunches, Fridays at noon at the Joan Pisani Community Center, from noon to 1:30. We would love to have you.
