The Highs and Lows of a Sailboat Race to Hawaii

The trip included 12 days of hard sailing and great satisfaction to achieve this sailing milestone. However, on the return trip to San Francisco with a hired skipper, the boat struck a container in the middle of the night. The crew was rescued by a freighter and the boat was abandoned and a total loss.
