New Museum Los Gatos (NUMU) Executive Director Ami Davis will talk about ArtNow, The Annual High School Juried Exhibition, and NUMU’s efforts to reach underserved audiences in our region with the ongoing support of the Rotary Club of Saratoga. She will also reflect on how the museum serves the Los Gatos community and beyond, and a vision for the museums in the twenty first century as we emerge from the Covid pandemic. 

 

About New Museum Los Gatos

New Museum Los Gatos (NUMU), formerly The Museums of Los Gatos founded in 1965, is a public non-profit art and history museum. NUMU’s mission is to engage the community at the intersection of art, history and education through innovative, locally connected and globally relevant exhibitions, programs and experiences. NUMU’s vision is to offer equal and equitable representation, opportunities and services to all stakeholders through our operations, exhibitions, public programs, and permanent collection. 

 

About Ami Davis

Ami Davis began her role as Executive Director of NUMU in January 2021. Ami has 22 years of experience working in museums throughout California as an educator, curator, and fundraiser. She holds an M.A. in Art History from California State University, San Jose, and a B.A in Art History from the University of California, Santa Cruz. She has served institutions such as the J. Paul Getty Museum, the Monterey Museum of Art, the Orange County Museum of Art, San Jose Museum of Art, and the Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History. She has also served as an instructor for courses in contemporary art at UCLA Extension and has been a panelist and presenter at numerous national museum conferences. Ami lives in Santa Cruz, California with her family.
