Addressing the Mental Health Needs of Saratoga’s Youth

Marico is a community advocate that has dedicated her career to making positive impacts on social and environmental issues. She is currently the Executive Director of CASSY, Counseling and Support Services for Youth.  CASSY is the leader in youth mental health services in the Bay Area and partners with local schools to place competent, compassionate therapists directly on school campuses to provide comprehensive mental health services to all enrolled students at no charge.

Marico has also been a Council Member since 2014 and served as Mayor of the Town of Los Gatos in 2017.  Marico represents Los Gatos in regional and state policy issues and serves as the President of the League of California Cities, Peninsula Division and Vice President of the Cities Association of Santa Clara County.  

Marico began her career working for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and spent many years in the environmental field also working for the H. John Heinz III Center for Science, Economics and the Environment and the Natural Resources Defense Council.  Marico holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Science from U.C. Berkeley and a Masters in Environmental Management from Duke University.
